Open Platform Options

This month I continue our focus on choice and open platforms. Our feature article is on Architectural photograher John W. Davis of Dallas, Texas who has made his Cambo Wide DS the primary camera he uses with his P 45+ back. John is one of six photographers who have assisted us with our new technical solutions bundle brochures for Horseman and Cambo. The impact that these tools have on the final image is stunning.

Choose the tools that give the best results!

At Phase One, our commitment to open platforms for photographers is also a commitment to manufacturers who build these unique solutions. The three images to the left feature our newest mailers that pertain directly to our commitment to you. Click here to download the P+ Simply Works mailer. To download the Phase One/Mamiya Great Deal mailer click here. For the P Series/P+ Series Best of Both Worlds mailer click here. These describe our new Mamiya bundle that includes body, 80mm and 28mm lens with a P 45+ and some of the key features that have made Phase One backs so successful.

We recently completed two special bundle brochures for the Cambo Wide DS and the Horseman SW-D II Pro, our two most popular technical camera solutions. Each brochure features three world class photographers who bring something special to photography and especially craftsmanship capture.

Our photographers with the Cambo Brochure are John W. Davis of Dallas, Texas, USA who is also our feature photographer this month, Colin Page of Victoria, Australia and Torben Eskerod of Copenhagen, Denmark. Click here to download the full PDF with the photographers comments, sample images and product details.

This is a very thought provoking article that delves deep into what it takes to be successful and passionate in photography. We all have something that drives us to achieve more, do more and be more than we were yesterday. The most gratifying aspect of being a passionate photographer is to be able to do what you love every day! To read the article please click here.

The culture of openness

The purpose of this column has been to discuss how we think and what we feel is important at Phase One. The concept of open platforms is a very important one for us. As we look at how many different camera and lens configurations photographers use to create the right look and feel for an image, we realize that choice of tools is extremely important.

We announced on November 16th our development of an new medium format camera with Mamiya. We are developing a Phase One camera that will offer new features not available today, yet it will take competitors backs as well as film and existing lenses. For details and commments from the industry follow these links: CNET, Luminous Landscape, DCViews.

We are also strengthening our efforts with partners like Cambo and Horseman. I really like to hear your comments so please email me at jst@phaseone.com.
