I’ve been using Phase One equipment since 2001 when I went digital with the LightPhase 6mp back on a Contax 645 camera system. Phase One has provided me with generous options for upgrading over the years, so I’ve never considered using anything else. The equipment has been absolutely bulletproof and the quality second to none. The image quality took a huge leap with the introduction of the 100mp Trichromatic back and has progressed even further with the IQ4 150 back. The night time panoramic images in my Indian Road series took on an almost tactile quality when I upgraded to these backs- the retention of deep shadow color detail while controlling the highlights of bright streetlights is absolutely stunning. Paired with the amazing lenses and the built in tools of the XF camera, it is a system that has given me better quality images than I ever could have dreamed of. I’m glad I chose Phase One 23 years ago!

Why would I not simply want to work with the best? The camera feels and looks great. This is indeed important to me. I love working with it and I have to. The camera is super reliable, the connectivity with C1 works flawless. The lenses are the best. The files are tremendous, they give me so much to work with. And last but not least, the flash sync time of a 1/1600th is perfect as I love using flash outdoors. This system just has everything I ask for in my work. And I haven´t even mentioned focus stacking and frame averaging, have I?

You can get something beyond what you want by using a great camera.
Phase One cameras are always my view-changer and the best gear in the right spots.Sails Chong

There are medium format cameras, and then there’s Phase One. Nothing rivals its color and image quality. Whether I’m photographing Stonehenge for National Geographic or a Mercedes G-Class calendar, as a Phase One user, I always feel I’ve captured the utmost from every subject…that will enable me to create the best photographic art possible.

It’s been a 10-year journey since I first picked up my Phase One camera – and that path has seen my style evolve to be as considered and meticulous as the cameras are themselves. I think back to the days before I shot with Phase One, and more recently the IQ4 system – with limited dynamic range, tens of filters of all different types and sizes, panic if something ruined the light – and then look at how free it now feels to know I have all the tools I ever need to “get the shot” in that magical little box of tricks. Being part of the Phase One family has given me the support and encouragement to just “do better” on each and every shoot. With the most detailed captures, the richest dynamic range, the infinitely customisable workflow – that equipment (and relationship) has pushed me to get the best out of every sceme I go to shoot.

In my work, I always believe that there is a specific tool for each task. The Phase One camera, for instance, encourages you to slow down and take your time when shooting. The image format provides a unique three-dimensional quality, but what impresses me the most is not necessarily the resolution, but the depth of the image.

For over twenty years, I have relied on Phase One cameras for my work. Each time I take the camera out of its case, I am confident I am using a tool of precision and engineering artistry, which enables me to push the limits of my image-making. My goal is to deliver dynamic, memorable images that stand the test of time. I can unequivocally say that I capture my clients' designs with the highest quality, ensuring these images remain commercially viable for years to come.

25 years ago it was clear that a small company out of Denmark was producing the highest quality digital capture systems in the world. And therefore, my new company would need to align our offering with their outstanding capture products. Capture Integration’s success is directly tied to representing quality products without compromise and a big part of that success is due to our Partnership with Phase One. Happy Anniversary Phase One. Looking forward to another 30 years of excellence!

Congratulations Phase One: 30 year anniversary
Selling cameras, lighting and studio gear since 1986, I found myself in the middle of the transition from film to digital capture. At photokina in 1994, I first saw the Phase One scanning back (4×5 insert) and that really got things started. Phase One has been at the core of what i do ever since. At Photokina 1998, the Phase One LightPhase was shown and instantly became a serious hit.
Phase One single shot was a milestone!. Instead of continuous light, flash could be used and that is what all the production studios used primarily for lighting. At the end of 2005, I went on my own and signed on as a spokesperson for Phase One. I did over 200 events globally for Phase One between 2006 and 2008 from Australia and India to English speaking Europe and 2 separate 40+ city tours of the US.
In 2008 we started B3K Digital offering Phase One backs and supporting tools across Canada. For the last 15 years we have been building the Phase One story in Canada with the latest 8 year chapter focused more and more on Cultural Heritage Digitization, a serious growth area.Congratulations on 30 years of visionary ideas realized in amazing photographic tools.
