Trimble Dimensions 2024: Innovations, Insights, and Inspiration
Trimble Dimensions 2024 was a remarkable gathering of professionals, visionaries, and innovators who are shaping the future of geospatial and construction industries. At the Venetian Convention Center from November 11-13, Trimble hosted 7,000 attendees, setting a new record for Dimensions.
Merging the Digital and Physical World
This year’s event started with a keynote session by Rob Painter, the CEO of Trimble Inc. with inspiring stories demonstrating the importance of “connection” in creating a brighter future, based on four pillars of “people, data, workflow and ecosystem”, and a way to get work done, “better, faster, safer, cheaper and greener”.
An educational and experimental hub
With more than 800 sessions and computer labs led by Trimble experts together with approximately 400 external speakers, this event was an immersive experience, blending cutting-edge technology demonstrations, thought-provoking discussions, and unparalleled networking opportunities.
Attendees’ takeaways were not only knowledge but actionable insights to drive their industries in surveying and construction forward. Trimble Dimensions 2024 featured Sketchup 3D Basecamp as well as off-site activities, to demonstrate the latest news and technologies in the practical environment.
Capturing Reality and AI-based feature extraction
Reality Capture was one of the highlights of Dimensions 2024, indicating the role of geospatial technologies in capturing, measuring and analyzing the physical world in a digital way. Data acquisition solutions via UAV platforms like Trinity Pro from Quantum Systems, as well as Mobile Mapping systems from Trimble, were showcased at the exhibition hall and during the lab sessions.
The Reality Capture web-based platform on Trimble Connect was presented during the keynote sessions, as well as in many educational sessions throughout the conference. This module allows customers to bring their data, such as point cloud, coming from different methods and solutions, i.e. laser scanning, mobile mapping, photogrammetry, into one unified platform.
Phase One at the Trimble Dimensions
Phase One and Trimble have a long history in collaboration and partnerships over products from Trimble Applanix, Trimble Inpho and Trimble Business Center.
The importance of precision and accuracy to produce high quality reality capturing has been the focus of both companies in providing premium level solutions to our customers. We were pleased to have our partner Quantum Systems as the representative of our survey grade P5 camera at the exhibition hall.
Especially in the Phase One and Trimble breakthrough session, “P5 Intelligent Image Quality Meets Survey-Grade AI in Trimble Business Center”, we demonstrated the streamlined and simple end-to-end workflow of Quantum Systems and P5 in Trimble Business Center, to produce high quality photogrammetry results, as well as AI-based extraction of features such as stockpile, lines and rail. The high-density point cloud of P5 was demonstrated for the first time in Trimble Connect, which is Trimble’s brand-new web-based reality capture environment for managing geospatial data.
In the session, the audience could get more insights on productivity and speed in large area mapping applications, as well as in corridor mapping projects, thanks to the state-of-the-art fixed drone Trinity Pro from Quantum Systems.
We at Phase One are proudly and excitedly looking forward to levelling up the precision and accuracy of surveying, construction and inspection deliverables, with our best-in-class P3 and P5 cameras, and accompany Trimble’s customers with premium level high-quality products.
“The Phase One P5 is the revolutionary flagship 128MP camera that transcends its role as a mere camera – it‘s a survey-grade instrument set to redefine the way you capture. Achieve exceptional results, down to 0.5 cm RMS XY/Z absolute accuracy, making your data impeccably trustworthy.”, said Sven Kruck, the Managing Director of Quantum Systems.
